Working at Powers

The culture at Powers is one of openness and transparency. When the company is successful then it’s because the team has been successful and they can only do this if they know about how Powers works. Our company is largely made up of humans, high tech precision equipment and good quality processes and procedures. Our team of surveyors, who we see as consultants, are often given a lot of responsibility early on in their careers and because of that, it’s imperative that everyone sticks to and believes in our company values of:

Professionalism – everything we do and every person in the team must act only with the utmost respect, decency and responsibility in delivering all of Powers services.

Teamwork – our success can only come from working closely as a team and having each other’s backs. There is efficiency, collaboration and support in working together to deliver Powers survey services.

Learning – all our staff, whether surveyors, support administrators or directors are encouraged to constantly keep learning and improving their business and technical knowledge. Powers believes in building great teams and internal and external learning is highly regarded and encouraged of all staff. This all feeds into the company’s commitment to continual improvement to provide the most accurate and innovative service for our clients.

Growth Mindset – our current growth has only come from the fact that we believe ‘we can’. Our team is made up of people who always believe ‘they can’ and are curious enough to innovate without worrying about the consequences.

Quality of Service – with these values Powers delivers an outstanding Quality of Service to its clients. Everything about what our team does is focused on capturing data at speed, accurately and delivering it to the client within their timescales.

With these values we believe that the Powers team constantly levels up for its clients. Do you want to work for a company that wants to level up for its clients too?

Some of the things we do for our employees:

We are a CICES Approved Development Partner and the CICES Approved Development Scheme supports our surveyors’ progression to a professional qualification.

Powers runs a successful, sustainable apprenticeship scheme which supports the growth of our new talent through a combination of training and practical experience.

We encourage all of our team, not just our surveyors, to develop their skills and continually educate themselves so that they can confidently work with our clients and be a supportive force for their less experienced team mates.

We are environmentally conscious, and we care about the impact our projects have on our environment. We train our team in environmental management as part of our ISO 14001 certification.

We’re committed to providing high-quality, precise surveys on all of our projects, many of which are interesting or are important to the developing infrastructure of the UK.

We love working with architects, designers, and contractors, who are like-minded, and we take pride in having a clear vision for the future of our business.

Oh and we’ve also got a dog, Merlin, who spends his days lolling about in the office visiting members of the team who need his attention most.
